I'm 33 years old and in a different field ??? How do I get started in engineering?

I'm 33 years old and didn't take very much math/science classes in high school or college. (I've been a piano teacher for 10 years) How do I get started in engineering?

I want to change careers and become an engineer. I've struggled with math/science in the past but I'm willing to work hard and start from scratch. Any suggestions on what kind of math/science to start with? I think I'd really love physics because I like to know how things work. I've always wanted to build a car engine or fly a small plane. I'm good with my hands and like to follow instructions or fix things around the house. I took mechanical drafting in high school and loved it - I love clear, concise instructions or visual maps. I'm excited but intimidated about the long road ahead of me, so any advice or encouragement would really be appreciated!
