Engineers!
Amy Hammar is a Program Manager at Caterpillar Inc. with over 20 years’ experience within the manufacturing construction and mining equipment industry. Amy’s passion for diversity and inclusion in STEM started in the late 1990s bringing D&I seminars to Peoria, Illinois through the Society of Women Engineers. Amy has experience in recruitment of diverse talent in engineering and data analytic fields along with technical development of the talent through college talent pipeline programs and college graduate new hire development programs. Amy’s K-12 STEM focus is fueled by encouraging her middle school age daughter through science fair demonstrations, STEM career discussion talks, and coaching her daughter’s FIRST Lego League team. Amy has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron (Zippy, by the way, is one of the few female university mascots!). Amy is active in a variety of leadership positions in youth focused organizations, coaches’ youth sports/teams, and is ever learning how to manage her hobby farm.
