What I Do I solve technical and design problems of scale with code. A simple spreadsheet could be close to impossible to maintain if it has 100s of 1000s of interactions. A lot of technology companies in the cloud industry deals with such unique problems each day and get to be a part of the solution.
Why Engineering? Being in technology field means that solving problems no one has even seen few years ago. Every small problem we solve today opens up way to a future full of more possibilities, and of course more new problems . Pushing this envelope , even in the tiniest bit, is very rewarding.
Want to be an Engineer? It's not as hard as it seems. I know this might be cliched. But I have personally rejected dreams because I didn't think "I" could make it. And it has taken me years to realize not only that I can make it but also be good at it.
Hobbies I listen to podcasts and audiobooks a lot. They make my errands (driving , cooking and cleaning) more interesting. Did you know our public libraries have a great collection of audiobooks?
